Weird I know, but I used to wake up when I dreamt I was about to die, but nowadays I just carry on dreaming and seem to accept that I've died. Any dreamers have any comments on this?

Death in a dream doesn't signify that you're about to die, but that something in your life is changing. You're about to let go of something that you don't need any more. It symbolises the "death" of a way of life that you've known, but isn't working any more. I think once you figure out what it is that you don't need, and discard it, you'll stop having those dreams.

Yeah I had the same thing...used to wake up just before....but for the last few years Ive just been killed or died. One time I was in a dead end, a row of garages and some dude obviously wanted me dead....he had a gun. Anyway i knew I was going to get shot so i just waited. I heard the gun go off and my entire body actually got pushed backward by the force of the gunshot and I could physically feel the pain of being shot. It probably has some mad psycho meaning to it??? Not very nice though, prefered it when I used to wake up before it all kicked off. It the same with me as running in dreams. I never used to be able to run, id be feeling like I was stuck in treacle and was running on the spot, but I can run now too...weird!

What the? That's strange. Usually when you dream, say riding a bike, you actually FEEL like you're riding a bike even though you're not in reality. And if you dream that you're dying, just when you're about to die, you wake up because if you died in your dream and you went on with the dream you'd feel it and probably actually be dead. Guess I was wrong. I don't know, I've never had a dream like that, I've always woken up when I was going to die.

As far as I know, dreaming of death usually signify's that we need a change in our lives, or what we do with our lives. It's symbolic rather than literal death. Some part of you needs to "finish" one way of doing things, and find a new way to go forward.

The fact that you can carry on dreaming, in spite of dying shows that you've mentally accepted the changes that you need to make and are probably ready to make whatever changes are necessary..

It all depends in what context your dreams are. Do you die at home? At work? Drinking with your friends?
They might all be different, but it can all come down to where you are when you're dreaming.

If you dream about dying at work for instance, it might mean that the routine, stresses, pressures or whatever... are *killing* you, and you need to find another way to earn a living.

Dying while drinking with friends might mean that you need to change your habits - or you're getting too old for this.

At home - maybe someone is making you feel "dead inside", etc.

Believe me, dreaming of dying isn't usually a bad thing - it's just your minds way of telling you that it's time to make some changes in your life, and to move forward.

Dreaming of dying means you're worried of something in your life coming to an end, but i guess as you have accepted dying in your dream, you've accepting a change of some sort, however it is still on your mind.

well iv got a dreamers dictionary and it says

DEATH: If you dreamed of being dead yourself, it indicates an approaching release from all your worries and/or a recovery from illness. To dream of a death frequently signifies news of a birth.

Dreaming of your own death could indicate a transition in your life. And accepting that death means that you are letting go of things no longer necessary and accepting the new things that bring better and deeper meaning to your life.
