Absolutely not if the doctor suggests you not because alcohol has a set of chemicals from yeast that act as a catalyst when you take medication. Some medication, you can, but I would not do it if I were you. Better yet, read the labels because the Food and Drug Act requires all medication for any side-effect with smoking, pregnancy, or alcohol.

It depends on what you are taking. Some medicines are ok to drink with, others are not. Some cause very bad things to happen inside your body, and some medications simply do not work in the presence of alcohol.

That's a big negative when taking antibiotics. It depends on the medicine. I take zoloft, xanax, and two antiepileptic medications. I only have a max of two glasses of wine. It just makes me sleepy. If you take medications for mental disorders, I would say big no on that one too. My best advice would be to ask your doctor. I have consulted my doctor about how much I drink and as long as it's only two glasses every once in a while then I'm okay. If on medication on a daily basis, never never never drink everyday.

This not a good idea, most medicines state on the label that they should not be taken with alcohol. Don't chance it, could be an unwise decision. Sadly one of my managers at work died in Nov06, drugs & alcohol mixed was the cause.

alcohol affect the effects of medicine, sometimes it potentiates the effect for example those anti depressants, benadryl all medications that make you drowsy if you take it with alcohol it will potentiates the effect which offen very dangerous, it also slows the effect of medicines you are taking, all medicines are metabolized in the liver so dont kill your liver by adding alcohol in it

I wouldn't because you don't know the effects it can have on your body. Read the label on the medicine...most likely it'll say don't take with an alcoholic beverage.

Not a good idea, especially with antibiotics. Read the label and any other warnings that are included with the medication. Most of them tell you not to take with alcohol.

No, you should not drink while taking medicine. You have no idea how your body will react to it. Usually nothing much happens, but one of my friends was one of the unlucky ones who took prescribed pain medication after he had been drinking, and he died as a result of it, so please do not take the chance.

It's not recommended. I think that a little bit every now and then will be ok, but excessive drinking is not a good idea. It can interfere with the medication(s) you're taking.
