My husband has had two Dodge Neons in the past several years. Not a problem (knock on wood). He has maintained them himself. My Durango is another story...beware of the big truck.

RE:
2000 Dodge Neon...good car?
Looking at a Dodge neon. Fully loaded, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, cd player, heated mirrors, abs, very clean, well maintained. 100% accident free.
Is this a good car to buy?

The Dodge or Plymouth Neons are good dependable cars. The only known problems with them be it a 95 or an 05 is the fuel pump.I have replace a few HUNDRED in the past 11 years.

No.
Neon's are unreliable and not safe in an accident.
Pieces of junk. The paint peels off them like an orange too.
As was said, find youself a Honda or a Toyota. Don't fool around with the crap Dodge Neon no matter how clean and nice it might look. Trust me.

NO WAY DONT DO IT, now i love dodge but neon's are disposable car's yeah they may run for a while but then the problems start hitting non stop, if i were you Honda Civic, great cars good gas mileage and they are pretty fast, and most of them are priced around the same as a neon

They were built quickly and cheaply. If you get a good price on a well-maintained example, then I'd go for it. However, it will never be anything other than a cheap car.
