CNN allowed a lot of things to have a pass, just so they could stay in Iraq. If I were them, I would continue to stay quiet about that too.
It's the other media outlets I wonder about. What's their excuse?

As a result of the Iraq war, some estimates show that up to 500,000 total Iraqis have died as a result of this war. When will this war end? The more time spent in Iraq, the more Iraqis and U.S. soldiers get killed. With Saddam out of power, Sunnis and Shiites/Kurds will continue to battle each other until one gains power. Iraq is essentially on the brink of civil war, with the U.S. playing peacekeeper. You must ask yourself if all the death and destruction going on in Iraq was worth the ousting of Saddam, which is the only thing this war has accomplished.

i'm not surprised.
ever heard of Eason Jordan? if i'm not mistaken, he was a reporter for CNN who used to pass on info to saddam in exchange for stories. he now runs a blog, after having lost every shred of credibility he ever had.
okay i found a bit in wikipedia:
Controversy
On April 11, 2003, Jordan revealed that CNN knew about human rights abuses committed in Iraq by Saddam Hussein since 1990, but the network refrained from coverage of them in order to gain better access to information on Hussein's government. Jordan maintained that complete reporting would have jeopardized the lives of Iraqi informants, and confidentiality was ensured to protect the lives of anti-Hussein Iraqi activists and translators.

They were all the soldiers killed by Bush Snr as they withdrew from Kuwait after agreeing not to attack them. The two Bushes have killed millions of Iraqis between them. It looks like a competition who will kill more.
