Oh please. look when i was searching for the truth i really wanted the truth to be that god exists, i would have never imagined back then then i would ever become a nonbeliever. But which religion should i follow? why should my parent's religion be that truth? finding the truth means choosing which path is the one that leads to god, which also means that all the others with different beliefs will be destroyed / burned in hell... Why would god be so deceptive and hard to find?
second, if something makes you feel good and gives you comfort, doesn't mean its true. So what if believing in god and a judjment day gives you more peace? thats not a sufficient reason to make it a reality.Infact its even more proof that the whole concept was man made so he could give meaning to his existance.

I'm an aethiest, and I think there is hope in the world, and I do think pleasures in this world are worth my time. I intend to get the most out of life, because as far as I'm concerned there is only going to be one for me. Why should I believe in something that has no evidence? Why should I base my whole life on it, when it is unlikely it exists? Why shouldn't I be the master of my own destiny, and not some 'God?' Why can I not just be an invididual, not put here by god, but by science?

Nope - I was born an atheist. I found the truth by reading and doing research about the history of the Bible and church, instead of depending upon a lying, killing church for information. I already know that life is good, and that God is not necessary for happiness or morality. I do not fear death, because I know that there is no reason to worry about shameful threats of an evil killer God who barbecues people for eternity. Mind your own spiritual business.

People are atheists because they believe that IS the truth. I am not an atheist, but that is how they feel.
Also, most atheists do not feel that there is no good in this world. They are not immoral people. And as for the world's pleasures, those should be worth anyone's time. We are here to enjoy ourselves. Not to live in depravity just to appease God.

I'm an atheist because I don't need a security blanket. I'm a good, upstanding citizen getting a college degree and eventually will become a nurse and I don't have to believe in fairy tales to do it. That's what boggles most christians minds.

i became a true agnostic. and then straight across the boad dumped all previous teachings and doctrins. not as hard as it may seem.
now christians have a tendancy to call me "heretic" but i suppose that puts me in the company of davinci and the likes...not a bad crowd.

i'm more of an agnostic atheist and it's because i would rather do that than be a hyypocrite and support something i feel no belief in. you believe because in your heart you feel it's the truth. i don't feel that. it's wrong to pretend that i do.
