Beagles are from the Hound family. Most hounds come in basic, tri color, or they call it Hound colored. Tan, Black, and White. With the pattern of the tan on the head and under parts, with the saddle in black with mixture of some tan(the back along the spine forming like a horse saddle shape) and bordered in white with varied white patches. Hounds also come in something called Lemon and White variety. The Tan is lighter colored with a yellowish cast to the brown, and they totally lack black, or they have a very small amount of black, or darker reddish brown visible in the saddle area. They are varied with patches of white. If the dog is not a purebred then it could have any color or pattern on it. If a purbred in the United States they come in only two variety of colors.
ADDITIONAL INFO: AKC do not recognize the blue ticked or black ticked or Black and White Parti colored Beagle. Though to do exsist they are not an accepted color unless you hunting. These dogs have other breeds in there pedigree in the past, to make them better or specialized hunters. Squirrel Curs, Mountian Curs, and certian Coon hounds have been the contributors to the Ticked Variety of the Beagle but they are not common colors of the purbred standard of Beagles.
Check out the link below this is a picture of all accepted hound colors.

Apologies Dane Lover, your right they are registerable but not showable with the ticked variety, not meaning that ticks are not purbred, but that in there development their were other hounds used, as most breeds were beefed up with other breeds. I worded it wrong sorry I just ment that they are not showable but huntable in field trials.

****The untraditional Beagle colors are registerable with AKC but aren't allowed in the conformation show ring..they are however allowed in field/hunt trials and other performance events. The notraditional colors are every bit as much purebred Beagle as the traditional colors..their lines can be traced back as far as the traditional colors with NO other breeds filtered in******

The Beagles my hubby bred were tri's and lemon & white
