They wait til you are dead, otherwise, he keeps getting released til he kills you. Why don't you guys know this. Dont give advice that you picked up from TV. Really. You will get someone killed.

I was in this situation 3 times first 2 times the cops were so kind (being bitchy) to take him to his buddies house so they could do more drugs and booze and the third time when he found me and put me in ICU they put him in jail for a whooping 3 days and 1 year probation! Wasn't that just great of them to give him free meals and nice warm bed and let me pay the bills and find a place for a our then 2 year old to go into hiding!!!
