Mary and Joseph are in Heaven because they believed in God

Joseph will not go to heaven because he died before the way to heaven had even been opened but he will most likely be resurrected to life on earth. Mary, on the other hand, has most likely already been resurrected to life in heaven where she will rule as a king and priest with Jesus. The Bible shows that "believing" in Jesus is not enough to get a person to heaven because Jesus tells that he will say to some who claim to be following him that he never knew them. Also, being a good Jew would not be enough either. The book of James says that faith without works is dead and Jesus says he is the way. Both things are necessary and proper motivation (love for God and other humans) is also a prerequisite. Then, too, a person would have to be one of the annointed chosen ones who will reign as kings and priests with Christ.

As the Bible is clear that "There are none good, not one," no one gets to heaven by being a "good" anything because no human is able to be any kind of good at all.
Thus, His parents believed Him and waited for the Messiah. Note that Mary is among the 120 on the Day of Pentecost. She knew who He was before His brothers did.

Yes! Imagine being the father and mother of baby Jesus. Especially Mary. Imagine how she had to be sin free to carry the son of God!

Actually, they were both good Jews, they obeyed all the laws plus they believed that their son was their Messiah.
