Go to the zoo and get some lion piss & put a few drops on the cat. When the dogs smell the lion piss they will leave your cat alone. I've done it & it does work. Hope this helps.

Do you have a electic pet zapper??! It's not for use on catz, but good for ur German Shepherd. If it bothers but doesn't INJURE or HURT the cat, for a week, try training your dog the word "no!" you have to demand in a loud voice as with any dog. When it bites say "NO! STOP NOW." And, then if it doesn't, get it off the cat and zap the dog. It doesn't hurt that much it's just a little lesson Zap. Some people say it does work.

First please do not get any form of electric shock to punish your dog, that is just unnecessary and cruel. Dogs learn quick to the tone of your voice. Especially puppies. We have found training our German Shepherd quite easy, they are very clever dogs and like to please.
You need to say No in a loud voice, a quick slap will do no harm but not too often, its not needed, we found water is also very good, get a squirty bottle or something with a spray on it, everytime he goes to bite the cat squirt him and say 'Leave it' or 'No'. It wont hurt him but will be a shock so will show him that you wont allow his behaviour. We use 'leave it' for anything he's not allowed to go near so he knows when we say that he moves away from whatever it is. Its worked very well for us and hes learning what he's allowed to do and what not.
Just be patient but persistant, keep up the training daily, dont let him get away with anything to start with and he wont pick up bad habits. You need to stop him biting the cat now while he's young though because they are big dogs when adults and could really hurt the cat without meaning to.
Good luck!

I have the same problem with seven month old pup and my two cats. We just keep a close eye on them and when she starts we tell her with a sharp NO. You just have to keep repeating the same until they get it. You didn't say how old your dog is or how long they have been together. That could also make a diffenence on how you handle it.
