It is very difficult when you are young, to know where to draw the line. Wisdom comes with experience. Most of the time, these men are suffering from extremely low self esteem, and physical abuse of the partner is a symptom of it. However, he is now making his problem yours. Most of the time, these fellows use intimidation to keep their victims under control. The key is to stand up for yourself in a forceful way without it degrading into a yelling match followed closely by the abuse. I am a firm believer in not having secrets. If it is secret, 99% of the time, it shouldn't be. Allowing him to intimidate you into secrecy is playing right into his manipulative hands. Tell anyone and everyone what happened. Don't allow yourself to be alone with him anymore, and make sure, firmly and decisively, he understands you are no longer his girlfriend and that you don't want him around you anymore. If he becomes even remotely threatening after you deliver the news to him, report him to the police and get a restraining order if necessary. You must be merciless in this. He will most likely come crawling back to you begging you to take him back, and saying he will never do it again. It may even be better for awhile, but it is almost a certainty it will resume sometime or other. Take your power back. And don't allow him to use love against you to have power over you. YOU are the one in charge of you. Always remember that.

Be strong girl, keep your head up. If you can get a boyfriend once you can do it again but this time you will be even stronger. He has a lot of issues with himself that he himself needs to solve and he will never know that until of course he takes the path to go in his past and see what made him that way. Once he does this he will realize that he was wrong and he will correct him self, something only he can do, because he is the one that was raised in his lifestyle. Something triggers him to hit you, he can not control his anger. Do not worry this is not your fault, although this may affect you slightly but this shouldnt have any permenant affect on you. It is bad, this is a circle that needs to stop with the STRONG, that is you be strong and understand that you do not want your children to see and mimic the behavior of the only life style they know. When a baby gets mad and starts to pull hair and curse and try to scrath out of control its probably because that is the only way the know how to solve there problem. there is other ways, and you are not qualified to teach or guide him through this process, you must either call the police, tell your parents but do not be with him you will enable him. and then he might on a accident kill you, i wish you the best of luck, keep your head up

GET OUT, don't become a victim. Don't be paralised with fear talk to someone that you can trust, don't live this on your own, it will give him more power.

If you still have bruises or actually even not, go to the doctor and put it on your records, if he does it again then you already have proof that would stand up in court.

Call the police, stay away from him, it only gets worse and worse. If you let it go two things will happen, we'll either hurt/kill you...or if you are smart enough to leave him but not smart enough to call the Cops he may hurt some one else. You need to stay away from him and you also need to tell someone. I don't care what he says he is going to do to you, it is not right for him to do that to you. It sounds like you are younger, if you are under 18 tell your parents and they will decide what is best. I personally would have charges filed against him and a possible restraining order as well. I've been there. You Have to tell. He will be arrested. You get a protective order against him. If he violates it he goes to jail. Try to never spend time alone. He is a COWARD! He will do nothing when you are with other people. He will try it again if you don't tell some one.
