Because women can have the telly on as a general background noise to everything else. For men it is ONE thing at a time. Maybe it's talking, maybe it's the 'net, maybe it's listening to music, maybe it's telly. Never more than one; so when a man is watching the telly that is what he is doing. If you talk to him that is something else and he has to stop watching the telly and talk to you and if it is a good programme he is missing a vital part of it. NOt a sexist answer, just a true one

I don't know for sure but I've seen some of the TV shows from the UK and if that's all I had to watch I'd be moody too. Just joking.
Having never been to the UK YET, I really know nothing about the telly only what I've seen on some movies and movies seldom show the truth.

Men are simple if hes watching TV hes watching TV and probably does not want to get interupted as its his time. Dont take it personnally both people in a relationship need space and this is just him taking his. Give him this time to himself wihout pesterting him and he will back intersted in you when hes finished watching the footie or whatever is on.

Because you pick that time to tell us about your day, including what every person you met during the day said, and what you said back, and who they are and who they are related too....and were just trying to relax and hear the tv.
