My daughter was 9 months and my son was 11 months. He just started :)) So watching him is fun and interesting. Sometimes he does this litte half walk thing where he's walking but his hands are on the ground, LOL.

my children form oldest to youngest started walking at 12 mo., 11mo., and finally 9 mo. They are all 1 and a half years apart so they learned of each other progressively. If you asked this question because you are concerned about your own child, you have to understand that ever child is different. From their attitude, experiences, motor skills, how much time they spend around other children,(this one really accelerates the speed in which they learn),and sometimes even the parenting can be a part of how they progress through the early stages. Just remeber to give your child alot of credit for even trying, and make sure you let them see you become very excited EVERY time they try again. Your excitement will draw them to try and try agian, sometimes just for the extra attention, and be sure to always tell them how good of a job they did. Remember, if they have never walked before, they do not know what really walking fells like, so they may actually think they have done it when in actuallity they only took one or two steps. Don't worry, it will happen, and when it does your baby and you will have shared an important moment of accomplishment that will stick with them and what them to do more things to make you proud of them. Good Luck!

Well my son started walking at about 11 months but he was sneaky about it. He didn't want anyone watching so he only walked for short distances when he thought no one was watching. He finally started to do it all the time last week when he turned 14 months. He did the sneaky thing when he started crawling too. I have noticed he only wants to do things in front of people when he has perfected them.

Both were right after their first birthday, BUT, they spoke on a more mature level and are both advanced.
Most, from what I've heard are around 9 months.
