I always had blackheads, but recentley they are really bad and noticable. There are loads on my nose and my chin but ive now started getting them round the edge of my lips, very small ones. I drink quite a bit of water use clean and clear face wash and a blackhead scrubb and use oil of ulay moisturiser. I have used blackhead strips in the past which gets rid of them then they reappear. I also splash my face with cold water after washing. Please help.

Buy a buff puff and exfoliate your skin then wash it and use a skin toner on it as well be sure you don't use water thats to hot because that opens your pores so it's always best to close your pores with a cool water rinse and toner. Use a light moisterizer like noxema and keep your hands off of your face during the day its surprising but when you think about how often you lean on your face with your hands it's surprising. But exfoliating is the most important thing for your skin if you have black heads but don't scrub so hard you burn your skin do it gently and daily they should disapear in a few weeks and don't pick at them.

Sorry to sound like a commercial, but Proactive does work on my skin. It's primarily used to clear acne, but for my skin, it gets rid of blackheads too. If you want to try something else, Neutrogena has some great products that work great for blackheads. But if none of the options help, see a dermatologist. Good Luck.

I used to get them more when I was younger-they are just blocked pores I think. I used a metal blackhead remover which chemists sell. That is the only way to be rid of them as far as I know. I never heard of those strips you use before. I would ask your doctors advice or your group practice nurse. Don't worry as everyone gets them.

Try hot steam over a bowl with a towel over your head for a few minutes, this should open your pores making it easier for blackheads to come out. Also a sauna is supposed to be good. These methods help draw impurites out of the skin.

Once or twice a week put boiling water in a bowl, sit with your face a foot or so above the bowl with a towel draped over your head to keep the steam in. Yes i am aware it might sound strange!!!!!!!!!! Sit for 5-10mins. This will open up the pores, then cleanse & splash your face with cold water to close the pores again. My mum used to get me to do this when my skin was quite bad & it realy worked. Hope this helps

The condition of the skin sometimes reflects the condition of the digestive tract, perhaps cleaning up your diet and focusing on vegetables and whole grains, limiting "junk/processed" for a few weeks may improve your skin. Treat the cause rather than the symptom...

Proactive. See, blackheads are caused by dirt and stuff getting into large open pores. Proactive will even out your skin tone and tighten it too. Closed pores = no blackheads. But, its expensive. Depending on your age, you may want to plead your case to your parents. Get them to help pay.

Why do people ask for medical advice here? You should see a dermatologist.
