If you are both crazy aobut each other and want it to work, it will work.
I go to school about 3 hours away from my b/f and I only get to see him every two weeks for only a day... and I would rather be with him all the time, but this is temporary so we make it work. It's not sooo bad.. but we've made our long distance r-ship work for almost 4 years, so it can be done....

I think it would be really really hard to start a relationship that's long distance right off the bat. I'm in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend and we are handling the distance pretty well, but we dated for a year and three months before I left for college. Now we're four hours apart and we stay connect through talking on the phone, texting, email, and even some occasional snail mail letters. I think it's completely worth it, but the distance is temporary in my case- I come home on breaks every couple months and in the summer, and I'll be back for good once I graduate. Having a relationship that is entirely and always long distance, I'm not sure. It would be a lot harder to start off that way. I guess it comes down to how much you like him and how often you would be able to see each other in person.

Long distance relationships can work if the expectations of both people are similar and they are willing to have longer periods of time where they are not together physically.
Before you commit to an LDR, think about some of your needs:
Can I keep cool knowing my significant other is around people I don't know -- or people that I think may have the hots for him/her?
How many times have I been out with this person?
Do I have the ability to visit this person on a regular (if infrequent) basis?
What do I want from this relationship? What do they want from this relationship?
Hope your relationship develops in positive ways...

I had a long distance relationship for almost ten years and it worked out okay. We've seen each other twice during that time. We got married after and now we have one little guy.
The secret is trust, commitment, and constant communications.
You're only two hours away and at the same state compare to mine which is across the pacific on a different country.
I hope i did convince you that they work. Good luck.

I don't really believed in long distant relationship at all. And long distance relationship to me like in different country, or state or like 10 hours drive or 6 to 9 hours fly. And you talking about only 2 hours away? If you do care about this guy? Come on make it happen...give it a shot.

My marriage was a "long distance" one for a year while my ex husband was stationed in Sicily. That was the ONLY time he and I really got along and were happy in our marriage....Your two hours is NOT a long distance relationship....

Hmm, this is a good question. I'm not sure what to do but I know that whenever I have a question i go to this website and submit it for free. Here it is: mscasanova.bravehost.com-its brand new, so there are still some kinks, but just click on the page that says: submission it's really good. I get not only the answer to the question, but I also get like personal advice about what to do with further situations. It's really really helpful it like allows me like a page of personal feedbacl and i get to choose whether or not I want to publish the answer on the website or like to keep it private. try it!
