if you have depression and dont want to move to go to the bathroom, move to eat, talk to a friend over the phone, watch tv, or even turning a light on or the radio, how do you motivate yourself to actually do something?!

i have so much **** to be done. and yet i cant even get up and go to the bathroom majority of the time, when i have homework, house chores, laundry, showering, cleaning my room, calling my friends back, ect.

but yet i have NO energy and sleep like all day 15+ hours, not even kidding.

what can i do without medication, my guardian is against antidepressants therefore im going on BuSpar (antianxiety) in a couple of weeks. but i need to do something that will help me now.

You should go to counseling...it really helps and they give you alternatives that may help you as well such as journaling, going for walks to get your endorphins going, etc. There are obviously things going on with you and your psyche that need to be, if not resolved, at least discussed. I wish u all the luck..really.

Depression can be very difficult.....basically you have to set a goal and force yourself to do it ...no matter how you feel....(are you sure it is depression and not mono????)

St. Johns Wart is prescribed in Europe to treat mild to moderate depression and is available in most stores that carry vitamins here! All natural nothing for guardian to complaine about there.

The other things that you can do to help yourself is a healthy diet and EXERCISE which releases endorphines that anti-depressants do.......those are probably the best things you can do to help yourself!

Good Luck!

I think you should seriously talk to a physician. If you are sleeping that much and that depressed, you should try medication. If your guardian cares for you, he/she would realize this. Some people's brain chemistry is just "off" and can NOT be fixed with anything *except* medicine.

Problem = Depression and Lazyness
The Only One Who Can Solve It = Jesus Christ
What to do = Just ask Jesus Christ to fill you with His Joy and Peace.
Tip = In the Bible God told people to eat what He created, so start eating fresh organic fruits and vegetables, then you will have the energy to do stuff around the house.
Warning = Don't ever go to counselors or doctors, they all want money, they don't care about you, only God cares.
