If you're seriously trying to figure out that question, you're likely to find the answer somewhere other than a few pithy answers on Yahoo Answers. I'd look into www.talkorigins.org (and then search for Big Bang)

The Big Bang has a lot of credibility because two scientists using it were able to correctly predict the background radiation before it had been discovered. The thing many people forget is other scientists incorrectly predicted it using the same model.
Yes, Jesus was around before the Universe.
Despite what some people believe, the Bible is historically very very accurate.
When you look at the complexity of life around us you realize it couldn't have evolved, so creation as it is written in the Bible is a credible belief. We don't know exactly how God did create the universe, and whether he used this way or that way is less important than they fact he did it.

There's a chance that both may actually be true. Physicists have explained that the Big Bang gave off light, but darkness followed it before the stars formed. In the Book of Genesis, God first said "Let there be light," and then he created the stars, and then separated the light and darkness.
So, think about it. God said "Let there be light," triggering the Big Bang. Then there was darkness. Then God created stars a few verses later. It seems to fit perfectly. It may not be true, but it MIGHT be possible.
God bless.

The Bible never said Jesus created the earth it said God did. I personally believe in the big bang as being how the Universe was created, but I feel the Bible holds some universal truths, like, thou shall not murder, yadda yadda yadda. Truth is filtered through our own minds.

About the Big Bang and the Bible.
"If I had no other data than the early chapters of Genesis, some of the Psalms and other passages of Scripture, I would have arrived at essentially the same picture of the origin of the universe, as is indicated by the scientific data." Nobel Prize-winning physicist Arno Penzias (Big Bang Theorist)

God created the earth, and the bible says that a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day. He spoke the words and the Holy Spirit did the work.

The bible of course. The "big bang" theory is like an explosion in a junk yard and out of the explosion, comes a boeing 747!
