Food, local drink maybe $20/ day average. A good restaurant would cost around $5 for a meal and a beer, an elite one up to $50! Add some clothes shopping, sightseeing, cabs, I would recommend around $100 a day. Bangkok is one of the best places to refresh a top wardrobe cheaply.

Eat well at the hotel buffet breakfast, itll keep you going all day! Drink the good local beer Chang or whiskey with ice & soda to cut costs. Take cabs when in BKK, its more comfortable and same cost as tuktuks.

Are you gonna see some of Thailand while there? You should, its great.

Depneds where you are going...

in most thai areas the yummy street food is about 25bhat about 40pence

In tourist area there may just be resturants at 400 bhatt. about £ to 6

Depends on what you want to do as well and where you are.

Say a dive trip may be bhat2000 to bhat depending how far you are going.

def go here.

www.tigertemple.co.uk Near bridge over river kwai.

and no the tigers are not ill treated at all. they were orphans and pets loved by the monks long before tourists were charged to help build a tiger sancturay and less all friendly and you can cuddle them and talk them walkies.

Also much of your spending depends on you not being an idiot.

Ie If you insist on a meter in the taxi instead of negotiating its 250 bhatt maybe say from the airport or less to bangkok hotel

If you negotiate say more like 500 bhatt.

likewise ALWAYS if going intercity go with OFFICAL busses and sleeper trains from OFFICAL bus terminals where you by the tickets THERE...

Likeswise dont get taxis right outside hotels or tourist spots walk down the road a bit and be polite and wai . (hold hands like praying and nod saying sawadee (hello))

Not from dodgy tats... as will work out cheaper with free food and sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better.

the ones from kho san road or resort TAT (travel agents) are illegal and say water poring from air con in cramped awful seats all night which the thais would not touch.

If in bangkok and you can take the subway or monorail... start of the art, clean and mega cheap.

Busses too but traffic may be a problem.

Motor cycle taxis good for traffic.

DONT RENT ONE. Roads dodgy and you not used to them

Likewise tuk tuks are for thais... they waste tourist time on tour of shops giving them commission and dont buy jems unless you know what you are doing.

Avoid 'ping pong' upstairs bars... they are clip joints where once you go in they lock the doors with scarey bouncers, you dont see, girl sits next to you then you have a massive bill to leave or did I mention scarey bouncers?

Normal gogo bars are fine if thats what you want. Be nice treat any girls with respect like a night night stand in a nightclub... only around 1500 bhatt for an hour or so back at your place and 2500bhatt for the night in bang kok.

or you can just go and get a drink in a bar and admire the view.

If you at like a jerk and mistreat anyone, the bouncers will hospitalise you and personally you'd be getting what you deserve.

Get loads of thai travel sickness pills as they are great. make sure your insurance has no excess.

and befriendly and polite and fun... the thias are very nice people, some may engage in fleace the walking atm but thats about it other then the exeptions I mentioned

the more activities and trips you do the more it costs.

Hi Horses for Courses It really depends on what you want to do and how you want to spend your time their I budget personally on about £500 per week ( 7 day week ) for food and drinks and getting around In Bangkok alone you can spend easily £10 on taxis a day Pattaya at least you have the beach to chill out on and are not tempted to spend spend the same as in Bangkok As you are their 3 weeks thats a heck of a long time to be in Pattaya unless you have a set plan and are meeting family and friends But you can go to the Islands that are nearby so thats a plus Huahin south of Bangkok is a whole lot nicer than Pattaya if you just a want a chill out place good luck

You can budget about US$20 for lunch and dinner will be pretty good. Good for a nice meal in most restaurants already. As for other expenditure, this will depend on you what you want to budget yourself.

If you are hitting the bars, probably US$50 a night should be considered.

So you can work out your expenditure for the trip. Recommend you bring your international ATM card to ease carrying money around.

Things are quite reasonable, but of course, it depends on what you want to do and where - - outside Bkk, things get cheaper.. food is quite reasonable, anywhere from 50 cents a meal on up.. busses are reasonable.. so, it all depends on the style in which you want to travel.. tuk tuks as mentioned above, well, in Bkk they can be more tourist rip-off things, 2x the price of a taxi which if you go on the meter is very reasonable.. Bring your ATM card and either some cash or T/C and have fun...

I just spent 3 weeks in Thailand myself recently, luckily for me i have a lot of friends over there so accommodation is mostly free. I had around 2,000 AUD spending money, it was plenty to last me for 3 weeks, i had over 3000 baht left when i arrived back in Australia.

I don't know how much the cost of living is there or how much thier money is comapred to ours, but i would say the equivilent to 500 a week? maybe less.... depends on wht you want to do and where you are. If you are in the lesss populated areas, in a village, you won't need that much at all, if you are in the city and want entertaiment every night, maybe more.

It depends on what you want to do - trips etc. and if you are willing to go it alone or want organised tours. I'm not sure if June is the best time to be going - it's not the high season and i'm not sure what the weather is like.

If you can afford it - make sure you do some diving!

#10 - 15 a day per person is ample. If you're in a hotel have a hearty breakfast:)...and use tuktuk for tansport!
