Hi, your question really made me snigger as my Irish Setter also still allows one of my cats to suckle.... this is the second one that she's looked after.
The first suckled when his sister left home (my friend & I both got a kitten from the same place but at only six weeks old we thought they were too young to be separated & kept them together until they'd both had all their vaxx at 13 weeks) - the day she left to live with my friend was the first time that Rico turned to the dog - so I guessed it was for comfort & reassurance ... must have been a bit like sucking a dummy though as the dog had no milk. The suckling didn't last long.
The latest suckler though has been doing it since he was about three months old & he's now nearly a year. No idea why this time ... or why she allows him to suckle ... though she does also wash his bottom for him (ick) so maybe she's feeling frustrated maternal instincts.
You're right though, they make a racket ... really slobbery noises ... normally just when you're trying to get to sleep. I have no idea how to persuade them to stop this as they both appear to enjoy it. Ah well, really good to hear that mine are not the only odd animals.

Your kitten might have been weaned too early and your Golden was happy enough to be surrogate mother for her. The other possibility is that these two spent a lot of time together alone when you first brought your kitten home. Even if kitten was weaned properly, she might have turned to your Golden as a source of "motherly" comfort. Since your Golden doesn't seem to mind, it's probably not something to worry about.
What sort of noise are they making? A kitty pretending to nurse should be fairly quiet, I'd assume.

Sounds like you may have a sensitive stomach on your hands. Maybe, maybe not. Keep her on Kirkland for a while. About another month. Let her system get settled down. Then, I would recommend switching to a higher quality food. I really only like grainless foods, but those don't work for all dogs. And I don't recommend feeding them to puppies. So at the moment, you need a high quality food with grains. I think the best food *with* grains is probably Wellness. I don't think you can get better than Wellness. It worked amazing for my dog. Another excellent one is Solid Gold. I haven't tried it but the ingredients are excellent. Blue Buffalo is another very high quality brand. Again, I haven't tried this one but the ingredients are awesome. It comes in both a grain variety and a grain free variety. So does Wellness. Chicken Soup For The Dog Lover's Soul is a medium-high quality food that is low priced. I tried CSFTDLS for my dog, and we was wonderful on it. NutriSource is a medium quality food that my dog did excellent on. Here are some products I recommend for your dog: Solid Gold- Hundchen Flocken Puppy, WolfCub Wellness- Just For Puppy, Super5Mix Large Breed Puppy Health Blue Buffalo- Longevity for Puppies CSFTDLS- Puppy, Large Breed Puppy NutriSource- Large Breed Puppy I just typed all this out; I hope it helps you and your puppy!!!

Kitty has adopted Pooch as her mummy. And Pooch has adopted Kitty as she never had pups. It's a comfort thing. Some cats never grow out of it. I think it's unbelievably cute! Bless them!!

Maybe your cat was taken away from its mother to early. If both pets are happy I wouldn't worry, but putting a stop to this mutual comfort giving might cause distress to either of them. Better happy pets than sad.

My Yellow Lab did the same thing with one of my cats.
They did it for a while, then just stopped. It just seemed
to make them both happy. My neighbor is a vet, and he
said it was indeed unusual, but would not create any problems.
