My daughter is 11 and she owns her own .22. She's a good shot too. Any child under 18 shooting a gun in my state (California) has to be in the company of someone over 18. In wacko nazi gun states like Massachussetts and New Jersey the laws are very complicated and they like it that way.

personally it depends on the person some people should never even hold a gun but if it were my child i would say when they could hold it and withstand the recoil but you need to definently go over the importants and really drill it into there head to be aware at all times etc...

When they have the physical and mental ability. My kids started between 5 and 9.

Well it dosent matter your age to shoot one but if your under 18 or 21 i cant remember witch one you need to have a parent with you.I think

The age doesn t quite matter......my opinion is......as soon as the child can tie his or her own shoes
