Herpes simplex virus is what produces cold sores. Anyone may get it from drinking someone else's drink, utensils, using someone's lipsticks, and lip contact with anybody that has it. The swollen red bumps happen to be fairly troublesome blisters which might appear in the vicinity of the lip area, or even the inside of the mouth or nose, elsewhere on the face, or somewhere else on your body.

Cold sores may come back because of elevated stress and anxiety, colds, fever, winter weather, particular foods, or perhaps an excessive amount of direct sun light. The area can start to tingle, itch, or burn, after which the sore could appear. The sore could dry out and make a yellow crust. Cold sores can stick around anywhere from 7 to fourteen days. An individual might attempt to hide the sore by using makeup, but this typically would make it a whole lot worse.

To reduce cold sores, a person could consider using a cold sore specific lotion, apply lip balm with SPF 15, use licorice extract, ingest echinacea, vitamins C in addition to vitamin E, and absolutely keeping away from touching it. By simply adopting a handful of changes in lifestyle, it is achievable to avoid cold sores as well as stop cold sores from reappearing.

The best over the counter product I've found is called Vira-medix, it will clear it up in a couple days but if you can put it on when you just start feeling your lip itch or swell, then it can stop in in its tracks.
Your Doctor can also perscribe Valtrex which also work best if you start taking them at the first sign of a breakout. Since you have the virus living in your nerve, there is no cure but a Physician will ususally give you a perscription that you can keep at home for when the next break out occurs.
Figure out what triggers them, stress, sunlight, dry chapped lips...and do your best to avoid the triggers to reduce the number of breakouts.

Get Lysine! take a couple of them a day and crush them up and put it directly on the cold sore but to make the powder stay on your lips, just use carmex or chapstick before! For me it is gone in two days! Hope this helps!

I use Camphophenique (with drying action) and it does wonders for me. I use it as soon as I get that tingling and I apply it. Sometimes the sore won't even form, but it it is already there it dries it up in like two days.

Windex......I put it on each sore with q-tip in morning and afternoon. At night I put on Bag Balm. I get them after a fever. I recently had a dozen
potentials around my lips, (was just getting over chicken pox...again)-Eeck! Could see them and feel them. None broke through the skin with the home remedy.

Well whenever I get cold sores I have a little home remedy I use every time and works like a charm. I mix a little bit of bleach with a little bit of windex and mix it up really good, then just take a cloth and get it a tiny bit damp and stick it right on the cold sore works like a charm! Hope this was helpful!
