My problem in the past has been transportation. But at the present time I am within walking distance of my church. In fact last night I walked approx. 2-3 miles just to attend my church. Will be there tomorrow, Sunday...10 am ...walk if I have to, pray its not raining...

Just because someone chooses not to attend religious services doesn't mean that there are actions that need to be corrected. Unfortunately there are many demands on people today that do not allow everyone the luxury of a "Monday thru Friday go to work and church on Sunday" schedule. We as consumers have created an instant need to have our purchasing needs met 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many time Holidays aren't exempt for individuals that are employed within these services. Is it possible that the problem isn't that people choose not to go to church, but our disregard for one another keeps us from it?

I do go to church. I believe I need to go to church to better myself..no one makes me go, but I am grateful to have the opportunity to have freedom to worship the God I love. So many people would do anything to be able to worship as they choose.I also feel blessed. I feel like where much is given..the least I could do is show God my gratitude. This life is not easy, that is for sure. But God does not cause the horrible things man does to each other. We are accountable for our own actions, and I do believe we will be judged in the end by the way we lived our lives. Many may not support my beliefs, but I believe the BIBLE to be true, and this is what it teaches. It is true, you do not have to go to church to be a good person, but it is easier to stay on the right path if you do. My opinion.

Because I lost faith in God a long time ago. When he takes some of the people you love in the cruellest way, you doubt his existence. And this malarky of "it was their time to go". Fair enough, but why did my Dad's "time to go" have to be when he went up a ladder to rescue the neighbour's cat, and fell down onto concrete, dying an hour later in hospital? Or when my cousin went to help a girl who was getting her bag snatched and was stabbed to death by the attacker? Where's God then? If there was a God, would he not have let them live a long life and eventually die in their sleep? And would he really let the world become dark and twisted place it is now?

I got to church but it took me awhile to find a churched that I liked. I think that the issue that people have with churches is the corruption that goes on is some churches. I feel like this, Monday - Saturday, I go through hell. Church is the last place I want to experience any type of drama.

When church goes back to being a place of worship instead of den of hypocrites, then I will attend.

i think this question is in the wrong section of this site, but i'll answer it. i don't go because i work all week and like to sleep in on sundays. i feel closest to God when i'm by myself anyway. i think people SHOULD go to church if they like it, but it's not for me.

i think it all has to do with conflicts in our beliefs. there are so many different religions. we are taught so many different things - things that conflict with each other, so what church are we supposed to go to, what and who are we supposed to believe? i grew up a catholic and i stood by it til i was 18, just b/c my mother made me. as i grew up, i became mormon, and believed in that for a while, but as a pianist, i also played for different churches and was able to learn about their beliefs as well. everything they taught and did was different, that i became confused. i am now married to a lutheran and don't believe in that, so we just don't go to church now. i don't believe a person has to go to church - they just have to believe. i truly think God understands this.

I believe there is a higher power and you don't have to go to church to believe and worship. church is fine for others not so fine for me. To each his own I say. Be a good person to yourself and others.
