The first thing you need is Obedience. While being Baptized is important, the Holy Spirit will guide you about this at the right time. I would suggest you get an easy to read Bible such as the New Living Translation or the latest version of the Good News Bible and start with the Gospels and some of St Paul's Letters (Romans 1st and 2nd Corinthians). At the right time you will decide to read the Old Testament. You should also join a Church because God doesn't expect people to fellowship alone. Pray about this. I would suggest one of the main stream churches, but there isn't anything wrong with non denominational churches.

Christians aren't as stupid as some want to think. And
many who claim Christianity, don't have a clue as to what
Christianity is.
Christians use spiritul power in an ethical mannner. Calling on God to deliver, instead of manipulating other forms of Life. And
forgive instead of retaliate for every infraction, real or
imagined. This is the only way to release all the Karma and free ourselves from the lower realities.

You have to make a choice. the god you have chosen (satan, devil...) or the God of the bible, your choice, your future!
Believe in God and accept Jesus as your saviour is a start. Followed by prayer, finding a good Bible believing Church and reading and learning about the Bible. Other than the Bible 2 books to read that I would suggest are C.S. Lewis's book called Mere Christianity and Lee Stroebel wrote the Case for Faith

You should not pay any attention to most answers here. It is Faith in The Lord Jesus Christ. Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. There is nothing you can do as far as your salvation goes.

Do you love everyone now? Well, you'll have to create a whole category of people who must be excluded from that - homosexuals (especially!), Muslims, Catholics (if you're an American Baptist) and of course atheists (or any of the majority of Christians who accept that evolution is the process by which species including our own came into being). That still leaves quite a lot of people for you to love, but remember to include them out.
You'll have to spend a lot of time which could otherwise have been spent quite usefully talking to someone you get no response from asking them to suspend the laws of nature so that you can have what YOU want. And you'll probably have to give up sex. Including with yourself. But you can have sex with your spouse if you have one, so that's cool. And being a Christian will probably cost you money for which you will see little return, unless you consider it a bet on the afterlife.
Have fun!

Learn of the Lord.
An accurate knowledge of the Lord is the beginning of life eternal with God,and His Kingdom.
Obedience is the only way to keep your walk with God.
You must repent, become baptized in the name of the Father,The Son,and the Holy Ghost.
This is the knowledge of the Lord, for it is written.

Romans 10:9-10 (New King James Version)
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

1. I must realize that in my present condition I am a sinner before God. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3.23.)
2. I cannot save myself from eternal punishment in hell "For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord: (Romans 6:23)
3. Christ has paid for my sins and my punishment with His death on the cross. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus should not perish, but have everlasting life: "(John 3:16)
4. I must accept His crucifixion as payment for my sins, personally. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13)
If you would like to have assurance of eternal life, then pray this prayer: "Lord, I know I am a sinner. I believe Your Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me of my sins and make me a new person. I commit my life to you today. Amen,"
If you prayed this prayer you can send for Dr. Stanley's booklet, "The Only Door to Heaven." www.intouch.org.
When you are saved, you are sealed with God's Holy Spirit for eternity. You cannot loose your salvation because you are now adopted into the family of God.
It is important to find a bible teaching church and become part of the body of Christ to help you grow in your walk with the Lord. Read the Bible daily.
