I didn't have a problem with it at all - it just didn't work as well as morphine does, so I went back to the pain clinic that would prescribe morphine.

After a car wreck, broken neck, feet, ankles and arm, I was given all kinds of meds, the only one that worked really well was methadone with a vicadin or two in the afternoon. I had morphine, made me sick, sleepy and in a stupor, oxycontin made me too high to drive, work or function, not a good feeling, demarol, same thing. Methadone, like all narcotics will cause constipation and that can be controlled with a natural herb called Cascara Sagrada, it is awesome. Also narcotics can cause weight gain, (it slows the metabolism), they also slow breathing and respitory depression, so you must be careful to spread the dosages out four to six hours.
Other than the above, it is a long lasting, very effective and inexpensive pain releiver, and that is great because after my fourth neck surgery my insurance dropped me for some detail...
and I was paying over two thousand dollars a month and now I have it down to under five hundred.

I took methadone for about a year. I suffer from chronic pain and I had great results with methadone. Since I've had a morphine pump implanted so I quit the methadone but I had great luck taking it and the only side effect I had was we started out a bit too high in dosage and I had urinary resistance. But once we backed it off a bit I had no problems. It's great for pain and it's cheap!!!

Yes I was on it but it didn't seem to help me. I had my doctor to change me to something else.
