A U-pull-it yard. They will give it cheap but you must HAVE DONE some research on the type of engine you want

I didn't know chevy made a 2.2 or 2.4 V8, they make them in 4 cylinders, check the local junkyards.

For that kind of money I hope you plan on replacing it soon also. Then, as pointed out by another, a V-8 doesn't apply to a 2.2.or 2.4, those are four banger (not even a small V-6).

There aren't any V8 engines that small. The only thing you'll find at that displacement is a 4-cylinder. Pretty much any junkyard can hook you up.

Your little S-10 probably has a 2.8 liter V6. I got one too. Unfortunately these little 2.8's are pretty expensive, as they are very expensive to fix. My quote for my old engine to rebuild was $3500. I found one used with 205000 kms for $400 (Canada). Check the yellow pages for junkyards, Bargain Finder, Trader. I hope this helps.
