the sand fleas of parris island or the hills of san diego? why MCRD san diego allows their recruits to let their hair grow on top but parris island, for each haircut, shaves the whole head? and finally is the platoon guide guaranteed to be the honorman? i heard in other platoons being the platoon guide is not a guarantee to become platoon honorman and last of all, when one becomes the honorman, what privileges he have once he reaches his first duty station?

doesn't matter.. if you live on the east side of the Mississipi, you go to PI. if you live onthe west side, you go to SD. you don;t get to choose which one you attend, it's all based on where you enlist from.

theres only one I wont be able to help you with. Which one is larger. But for the rest. Sand fleas, all about discipline. Which is good every Marine need discipline! The Hills only the last month of bootcamp will you have to deal with hills. But they are tall and steep! Endurance and physical strength. Every Marine needs it! Haircuts, All recuits get there heads shave the very first day. And once a week after that until you get to field training. Rifle Range and stuff like that. The crucible and other field ops. By the time any Marine graduates bootcamp they have some hair on the top. And the Honorman is the platoon guide! But of the guide's for one of the platoons in the company will receive the title of Company Honorman. Meaning you are the best of the best in the Company. And you do not get any kind of privelages once you get to your first duty station. You might be a PFC or a Lance Corporal meaning you got promoted. But you will not get any special privelages. I hope I answered your question. I will send you a E-mail telling you which is bigger. but keep in mind that 2 months of training at San Diego are on the depot and one month of training is held at Camp Pendleton. And at P.I all of the training is there.

I hate Parris Island. It's supposed to be a 5 mile base, including the nasty swamps. It's so gross. Not all guides are the honorman.
