Generally no. Most orthodontists will come up with a treatment plan and an amount of time that the treatment plan will take. After telling you how much the total cost of the braces will be, you will have to make a modest down payment. Most orthodontists will ask you to make payments monthly according to how long the treatment takes. Let's say the treatment is supposed to take 10 months and the total cost of treatment is $2000. They will expect you to pay $200 per month during those 10 months. Once the braces are on, though, don't expect to have them taken off or adjusted if you decide to fold on your end of the deal. Dentists are running a business, and are NOT financial institutions. They have a staff that depends on THEM to get THEIR paycheck. Once you agree to pay a certain amount per month, don't expect very good treatment if you reneg on the deal. Find someone you trust, pay what you mutually agree upon, and the outcome will be great! Good luck.

Most Orthodontists require an initial payment when the bands (braces are placed) and the balance is paid in monthly installments over the estimated time of treatment. The down payment is usually about one fourth of the total amount. Most dental offices take credit cards also, if you want to be able to be more flexible with your monthly payments.

No, you usually pay monthly. In the past, orthodontists would have you sign a contract and the monthly payments would be made to them under that private agreement. Some still do that. But more commonly nowadays, there are finance companies who give loans for the treatment.
Here's an example:

It depends on your arrangement with the orthodontist. Most of them have payment arrangements available, but you have to work it out in advance and make the payments on time, usually with a decent down payment (just like a car). And most of them offer discounts if you can pay cash up front :-)

No. The orthodontist's office will tell you how much it will cost and help you set up a payment plan. There is more than one option so talk to the finance person.

Dpending if you have Private cover and if you went to a dentist that isn't part of a hosiptal if that is so you do have to pay up front . If your going to the hosiptal dentist I think you can pay them off with a deposit set down I think just ring and ask Gianina good luck.
