There are many reasons for dry skin. Drink plenty of fluids to hydrate your skin - it's the largest organ you possess. Make sure you include olilve oil in your diet and fish oil or some source of vitamins A, E and D in your diet. Your skin will be moister and more youthful without a lot of lotions if you do this. Also, once or twice a day use an organic mixture of 1/2 olive oil, 1/2 peanut oil and a favorite scented oil added to it as a moisturizer. Those oils are the most compatible with your skin and underlying muscles. If you do all the above, you should see results within one week.

I guess it would depend on what kind of lotion or product you are using. For the most part if you don see results within a week or two... that product probably isn't going to work for you. It is important to determine what is causing your dry skin or if it is really dry skin or another condition altogether. I would see a dermatologist to make sure it wasn't something different and then I would try a natural skin care product.
