ok, i regularly go from blonde to brown. U have to get a pre lightner to take the colour outta ur hair, then but a blode dye n dye it. anyone hairdresser will tell u the same, the person at college who says u dont have to pre lighnten is wrong, all dyes tell u on the back "if ur want to change ur hair to a shade much lighter, buy a pre lightner" trust me i have done this so many times, and it works out just fine. I used jerome russel pre lightener then what ever shade of blonde i fancy, Good luck x x x

no no. if u want to go from reall dark to reall light. u have to do it gradually. u need to get a brunette shade a few shade lighter than u are now, wait a couple days, the go a few shades more until u get to the blonde u want. if u are a really dark brunette now, it should take a few dying jobs to get it to blonde safely. other wise, u could get it profesionally done where they will most likely strip ur hair of all the dye thats on it already so its safe to go to blonde.
i knew a girl who tried to do somethin like that without takin the steps and it came out orange. mystepmom also did somethin like that and it came out purple. just be careful

you would'nt need to bleach you're hair as it damages u're hair.you could buy a home dye kit but look on the back of the box to check the shade of blonde ur hair is on the guide to see what colour you're would turn out.if it is not dark enuff use the dye any way, leave it 7 days then buy another dye with u're colour on the back of the box to see if you can get the colour that you want by using it.i hope that sorts you're problem out.

not a hairdresser at the mo but have been through college, red is the hardest colour to remove without ruining your hair, i would advise you to go brown for a while an keep adding bleach blonde streaks, if you still want your hair to be shiny and healthy

You would have to bleach it first!! A semi permanent colour will only colour your hair a few shades lighter (or darker)

I used to color my hair red and decided to go back to blonde. I had to first use a color remover and then used a blonde haircolor close to my original color. It's still not an exact match, but close. I am using color-safe highlighting to gradually blend in the roots as my natural color grows back in. ---If you decide to go that route---condition, condition, condition----it will leave your hair quite dry.
