i'm looking into the 2003 Ford Escape but can't decide between 2. one is a XLS and the other is a XLT, what's the difference between each?

If same price go for XLT because more standard features higher trim. Such as towing pkg was std in XLT. Maybe better radio, seats etc.. too Over long term comfort factors makes you enjoy a vehicle better.

Usually in ford trucks it goes XL or XLS is basic models, XLT is next, and Lariet and specialized etc.... is higher

XLS is the base model (less features) XLT has more features that you can have....it depends on your budget on how much you want to spend

yep go with "LifeRyder", xl, xls, xlt, eddie baurer--all trim packages. Xlt has more standard features. Higher base valve in worth.

depends on what you like as xlt will have different interior and diff light package and power windows,better seats.better radio sound and your value on trade in will be a bit better,but you might pay a bit more than the xls.

XLT sits above the XLS, but has extra equipment.

I'd go with the XLT. The difference is the 'trim' package.
