Any info about dog labor would have helped BEFORE she got pregnant. Call your vet, it sounds like you'll need him.

the older your dog, the harder the birth process on her. If shes relitively young, like 4-5 she could be looking for a nesting spot and is yes ready to unload her burden. put a box big enuf for her and a little more room with a blanket or towels in the bottom to soften the floor , in the bottom of a closet or maybe someplace you have noticed she sleeps or rests alot there. Lets hope this is not her ( and your) first birthing. actually the word is welping. This is how it should go: mama dog grunts and pushes and a puppy comes out in a pouch of fluid. Mama should turn around pretty quickly to break open the pouch and lick the puppy to make it breath. BUT, if Mama doesn't help the puppy.....guess what... you have to . Have some wash cloths or clean rags to pick up the puppy and clean off the pouch and fluids. Rub the puppy briskly ( you should be in a warm place too) and while Mama dog is delivering another pup, the pup you are rubbing should start to make sounds. If it does not, hold it head down so the fluids can drain out of it's lungs and nose. Rub some more and it should be wiggling and crying by the time you need to get the next pup. I am assuming that Mama dog was bred to a dog her size or smaller, because if she is like some breeds ( Boston Terrier, Pugs, some Chihuahaus) they can only give birth by Cesarean Method. So you can see Breed, age, size of mate and previous experience all come into light when our female pets give us more pets to love. Good luck with your new babies.

First sign of labour is nesting ( making their areas ready for birth) she will become aggitated and not settle.
If you think she is pushing then allow this to occur for one hour - if nothing happens then go to vet and they can give oxytocin to help with contractions, if this doesn't help then caesarian.
Don;t leave it past one hour from first push as she will become tired or the pup maybe stuck and you run the risk of the sack breaking and loosing that pup!
Allow 1/2 hour between subsequent pups if it goes longer than that and you think she still has pups (she is unsettled or still straining) then seek a vet ASAP.
I see too many pups die as people leave it far too long to seek a vets help!

OMG Why don't seem to be your puppies constant for crying out loud? There are adequate puppies being killed in shelters considering the fact that there don't seem to be adequate properties for them. And you will have the audacity to convey in but a further muddle. Give me a holiday already. Don't be a garden breeder and make a spay/neuter appointment on your puppies.

More than likely she is if it's time. Just sit with her, she will do the rest, unless you expect some sort of complications or the vets advised you to expect a problem.

first thing you have to think is how far along is she in her preg?if its been i think 55-62 days then yep your dog is gonna have her baby pups. it can be a lenghty process though just dont leave her alone until she has had all of them and isnt showing anymore signs of labor

Take her to the vet and explain to the doctor what you have been noticing. He will help. Congrats and good luck. :)

I think it depends on how far along she is and if she is pretty far along then call your vet to know what you need to do
