I don't have a grill, so I'm using the stovetop. The recipe said to cook it on high for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Well, each side got burned a little and the inside is still bleeding. Help?

Ok, to people that are saying to take it off of the oven, or to stop cooking it before it burns...did you see where i mentioned that it burns while the inside is still uncooked? I can't exactly take it off of the heat...

I would suggest that you grill on med-high to high for about 1 minute or 2 on each side, then throw the burger straight into the oven at a medium temp. (around 350 degrees or so) until you reach your desired doneness. This will prevent the burger from burning while still providing a nice texture on the outside all-the-while cooking the inside of the burger.

First, you need to cook them in the high heat for just 1-2 minutes on each side, not to cook the meat, but to LOCK the juice inside. After you sealed the meat on each side, turn the heat down to medium and you cook the meat until it stops bleeding or when the juice runs clear. (occationaly turn the meat so it cooks evenly) Just use your spatula and force the meat just little bit, if it still bleeds, you need to cook more, but if clear juice comes out, then you should turn off the heat. Let it stand for about 3 minutes. Then the meat is so moist and juicy and perfectly cooked! Enjoy!

Cook it on medium high, turn it once every thirty seconds and press down lightly on it with a spatula after each turn, giving it a total of 4 minutes cook time, 30 seconds twice on each side. Place a little oil in the pan before cooking, about the size of a quarter, and spread it around.

Just do it carefully. If you're using your range top then cook it on medium to medium low and then cover it with a pot lid or foil so the inside can cook. Once the inside is cooked then you can turn up the range to cook the outside.
If you are using store bought'n patties they don't take long to cook at all on the range top. But if you're makeing your own they will take a bit longer depending on how big they are.

Turn the burner down lower, and put a lid on the burger. Check it frequently so it doesn't burn. The lid will keep the heat in, and cook it all the way through. The key is PATIENCE. :) Good luck!

Turn down your heat its too high. Turn down to med ,season your meat, cook on one side tell you see the blood raising to the top, then flip, then after a period of time, cut into meat to see if done. If red continue cooking, if brown, it is done.

your burning it because it is too high of a temperature. you don't always have to listen to the label. cook it at medium and make sure you keep flipping it so that each side get s the same time on the stove. when it looks good to you take it out.
