hey there!
i'm going to my boyfriend's b'day party. a lot of his friends' there are very excited to see me for the 1st time.
what is the best way to greet them (along with "great to meet you too")?

I wouldn't be hugging them if you're just meeting them for the first time. It depends on how formal the occasion is but I don't think I would shake hands either. Just a friendly greeting and smile. Shaking hands seems a bit formal and hugging is a tad too personal on a first meeting. Have a great time at the party!

Let them make the first move. If one of them sticks out his hand for a handshake, then shake his hand. Hugs are only for people you know and are close to. You could be really crazy and give them the bieze (the kisses on the cheeks like Europeans do). That would probably break the ice really easily and make everyone comfortable because you'd all be laughing about it.

Do this one... one person at a time. If some one comes up to you and hugs you, then hug back. If not I would give the Hand shake. If you go around and hug every one you may make your self out to be too nice... touchy feelie type. Plus if your BF if the jealous type then he might not want you hugging all of his Friends. Other then that you should have a great time. Have fun and good luck.

I would say from experienced, wait to see how they greet you. They might iniciate a hug, or handshake, or they might just say hi. I would say since your meeting them for the first time, a handshake or a hi would be perfectly acceptable.

Do you know these guys? Are they friends or simple acquaintances? Or will you be meeting them for the first time? My suggestion is keep your hands off. Greet them with a cordial "hello, good to meet you" or "good to see you again." If you must a simple hand shake may be appropriate.

I agree, use google language device and start up a convo in french or some thing, its somewhat funt that you may have and also thrilling what you're saying to at least one yet another, I do all of it the time that is tremendous relaxing!! Andy

Hand shake!!! stick with that.. unless one of them just hugs you.. handshake is the safest way, for just meeting them!

If you are serious about your boyfriend then a nice handshake should be enough.
