How do I tone down a yellow to give it more of a coffee-tea stained look. If you have been in an Olive Garden that is the color I want.

You can use a glaze to achieve this look. Go to your local paint store and they can help you with a glaze that you wipe on over the paint to achieve the look. The method in which you apply the glaze and how much you remove will determine the final look. Always do a test area 1st until you get the desired effect you want before applying-it to the whole wall! I definitely like the idea of working with the yellow not trying to play it down. Think of a spring garden, the green and yellow of daffodils against the earth (your cabinets). Just continue with the theme! Don't introduce any more color though, have fun and good luck!

Maybe adding a little Brown will do the trick. But don't take my word, take your paint to a paint store and ask them to change the colour for you. They should be able to come up with what ever colour you want.
