It is an English version of the Latin "Christus", which is for itself a Latin version of the Greek word "khristos": the anointed (translation of the Hebrew word "Mashiach"- Messiah).

That is not a Hebrew word at all. It is from the Greek "Christos" meaning Savior.

I repeat, NOT HEBREW.
