Why do people make such a big deal out of a girl being single in her 20s? Honestly, i'm a cute girl and i get hit on often BUT i'm extremely picky and refuse to date someone that doesn't meet my standards of decency. (respectful, funny, etc) Even though i have these very attainable standards my female friends who have a fear of being single think that i'm lonely. I'm not lonely at all...i truly believe i'd rather be single and happy then in a relationship and miserable. I've dated guys but when i'm going through my single phase everyone seems to think it is a problem. What is up with the stigma of being a 21 year old single woman?

People are crazy. Just ignore them and keep being picky- and enjoy the freedom of singleness! Chances are in the end you will get a really great guy, while they are dealing with all the misery created by their loser boyfriends.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. But nothing personal, you think you've got a stigma now in your 20s, just wait until you see 30 or 40 being single. I think you sound pretty confident in that fact that you should have no worries but I totally understand where you are coming from. I don't get what people's problems are. If you are OK with it, that's all that matters. Don't let other people influence your mojo! Have fun & enjoy being single!!!!

No problem at all. You are a cool nice girl.
I am a 30 yr single woman, pretty, sweet and professional, and I don't care about what others think, I don't think I need to waste my time with those not worth.
Recently I met this guy really nice, we are into each other much, I know this is what I want.
So being single is nothing wrong, you just need to be open to love and be loved, but never being with someone just because you don't want to be a single. Single is cool, being with someone you love is great.

Man or woman, there's nothing wrong with being single. I've been single for over three years and I'm twenty-five. People with low self-esteem complain about being single more than people with healthy self-esteem. It is best for both people to be emotionally healthy before beginning a relationship.

In different cultures a woman being single is bad because how on earth can she look after herself? After all is is only a woman.
I am a single woman and i agree with you 100% why be in a relationship and be unhappy when you can be single and extremely happy.

you are able to properly be completely chuffed being unmarried. human beings in all danger desire they could be that way. loads of folk are fearful of being by myself and right here you're purely positive with it. they could be somewhat jealous of that. Be constructive in who you're. and don't supply up on searching the only for you. There are good men available and on the different maximum men are devoted to the only they love. purely take it gradual. you will understand whilst its good. and its properly actually worth the wait.

People have this idea that after you graduate from HS you are supposed to find a man and have babies. I'm married with no kids and everyone feels sorry for us because we don't have kids. I'm like you, I like life the way that it is, but people can't understand that because it isn't right in their minds.
Enjoy your life!

there is absolutely nothing wrong with being single. If you are happy there is no problem. The people that seem to think there is something wrong have the problem, maybe it is envy.
