Stupid me. Purchased a compilation disc set for 9.99 great deal lots of great songs from the 80's, no where on the disc does it say who is singing the songs except next to the 3rd disc in small print that this last disc is performed by the moldy singers. With my 12 year old, who now knows how inept his father is, we excitedly rush to the car and pop in the cd only to hear the neighborhood garage band doing horrendous cover versions ov the songs on all three CD's. Such deception by a retailer I have not seen in quite a while, what a bait and switch but they would surely stand behind this obvious sham!! NO WAY! I went to the Best Buy store(remember this is only $10.00) wait in a 25 minute line, and am told that since it is opened (the only way to realize what it actually is) it is unreturnable. Counter dude says I should have gone online to find out who was singing on the album. Says they can do nothing, call the 800 number waste more time. NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY!!!!

Put a scratch on the disc and go to a diffrent Best Buy store. Tell them you just want to exchange it for the same title. Dont bring your recipt. Tell them you left it home.
Then go back to that same Best Buy (on a diffrent day so that smuck is not working) and return it.

You should have asked for the manager and you made him/her give you what you want!
They pulled that crap with me once. I bought a CD, and when I opened the case the CD was cracked. So, I returned it for another copy or a refund and they said, "It's opened, so no refund...only exchange or credit."
I said, "OK, fine. Just give me another copy of this CD...one that ISN'T cracked."
Them: "Oops, the cracked one you just bought was the last copy....guess we'll give you a credit."
Me: "Ummmm...NO? Look moron, I paid for THIS album. I don't want another album or a credit. I want THIS album. So you have 2 choices: Give me what I paid for (an undamaged copy of the album I want) OR give me my money back."
Them: "No can do. Here's your credit."
Me: "Bull$hit! I'm not accepting this credit. Get the manager out here now!"
When they did, I argued with the guy until I got what I wanted. Yeah, it was BS, but if you're tough with these crooks they usually pu$$ out and back down. But I hate to be the one to break the news to you: It's not just Best Buy...it's 99% of all corporate retail giants these days!

I can relate, I HATE that store. I went one time and will never go back. Had the same issue with a simple return. The sales people also pressure you to buy things you don't need and look for women who have questions to upsell them. When I have to deal with idiots like that I get their name and send a letter to the president, a few times if I have to. That always gets me a refund or gift certificate. People never take the time to write anymore so if you have the time, I would get the co. info. and write away! I hope that store goes out of business.
