Our mastiff leaks urine when she is at rest or sleeping. The problem started after she was spayed. The vet claims that this is a common problem because of hormone deficeincy. She is on medication but it really doesn't make that much of a difference. I think the vet botched the operation. Has anyone else heard of this problem?

Your vet is correct. The hormones dose that your dog is getting is probably wrong since your doggie is going to be so big.
Also, did your vet check to make sure she doesn't have a UTI (urinary tract infection)?
If you think your vet is incorrect, you shouldn't be afraid to get a second opinion.

The Vet will want to do an urinalysis first to out-rule a UTI. If it's isn't a UTI, you can discuss the two medications called Proin and DES. Spay incontinence is a life long condition and medication must be taken daily to control the leaking.
