Think about it, it involved a increased capability of independent thought. Atheists explain their world by evidence as opposed to relying on superstition.

No. It is simply evidence that some people have both the time and intellectual horsepower to question the claims that they were given as children. Obviously, a lot of people don't. Evolution is now a proven fact (details on request), and is nicely discussed in Dawkins' Unweaving the Rainbow.

There's no evidence supporting the idea of evolution being the mechanism by which life came to exist. Atheists are one more piece of evidence that humans are "the blind, leading the blind."

No. The world could be nothing but theists but evolution would still be a fact just as gravity would be.
Unlike God, science is all about reality and its there even if we dont have faith in it.

no. it only means that some people DO NOT believe in God. that's ALL it means. However I see no reason not to believe in evolution and God at the same time. I believe that Adam and Eve were not just two individuals, but were representative of early mankind.

Nope still don't get it, it is a piece of evidence for the non-existence of the Cristian god though there are much better ones.

No, that there are atheists in the world is nothing new. The Psalms of the Bible said about 3,000 years ago that "The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God."
