It seems that way. I know a lot of people really do do it because they are loyal to god and appreciate him. But I just realised how people there can be SO fake. I mean after service they would start gossiping like CRAZY! and then they will judge you if you start missing out of church! it's so wrong!!! its pathetic!!!

I'm a good person because I feel too guilty and spiritually dead if I'm bad. God doesn't send you to hell, anyway. You send yourself by your actions. Bad karma, that sort of thing. If you choose to separate yourself from good, you go to a dark, evil place just because that's the path you've put yourself on. Saying that God sends people to hell...that's just a ss-backwards.

Not that I believe in Hell like the place that has sprung up in the past 500 or so years in "Christianity." That's just a literary idea that has become part of the "religion." But I definitely believe that if you do things that hurt yourself and others, you'll be miserable, and that's the real reason to be good. You have to find the good within yourself and develop it so you don't put yourself in your own hell.

Yes, it is wrong, but many people go to church because their heart are really in it. But sadly, like in ANYTHING else, you are going to find your hypocrites, gossipers, etc. It's sad, but don't let it discourage you from keeping a regular attendance at a BIBLE based church. Paul told us not to stop going to church just because of a few people who annoy us. It's good for our spiritual "refreshment" to hear God's Word preached and to have fellowship with other brother/sisters.

Have a great day and God bless.

G.B.

I attend the local fellowship because I ALREADY AM saved from hell. One must keep these things in the right order. Going to church doesn't make one a Christian any more than sleeping in the garage makes one an automobile. However, one should come to a local church that teaches the Bible specifically to hear God's word.

People go to church for different reasons. I go to learn a lesson about life, but I'm not too crazy about God/Jesus - I believe in both, but I'm not obsessed with them like some Christians. Also, I simply go out of habit - my mom dragged me to church as a kid and still today I can't stop going.

There do seem to be a lot of people that attend church to put on some kind of show.
However the individual person should concern himself/herself with their relationship with God and their reasons for going.
Church attendance will not save your soul.
Only a relationship with God and Jesus Christ can do that.

Many go to church just to be seen going to church. It makes them look "good" in the eyes of their neighbors. It doesn't mean they take anything of the experience with them. As a friend once put it, "they practice tradition, not religion".

We are to gather ourselves together. Alike believers, to learn, followship, help others in the family first then outside of the family. Going to church does not save you, just like the law. The laws are guidelines to show you if you are breaking a law or not. Just like it is against the law to run a red light. There are consequences to breaking the laws. How would you know something is right or wrong, if you have nothing to show or tell you right from wrong. Just like the bible states "forget not to gather yourselves together.

no!

Did you know that church can't save you from going to hell, anyway?
Even if you are in church, that doesn't mean that you've really accepted Jesus and are living your life for Him.

I go to church because I want to worship God and have a time where I can be around other people that really understand me... because they love Him too.

No, I go to church to worship God, participate in the Eucharist, and enjoy the company of other believers. For me, that's the only real reason to be in church -- not because I need "fire insurance."
