You know when you're in a conversation and you forget a word for something? Usually, it's a word you don't use that often. Well lately, I haven't been able to remember the easiest of words in conversations. It's been happening a lot, and I'm kind of worried.
Do you think this is happening because I've been overly stressed and full of anxiety lately?

Could be. Depending on how old you are it may be just that you are like me...your brain can only hold so much stuff before you have to begin to download some stuff. I use to be able to remember EVERYTHING! Now I find that only the things that are priorities stick with me. And even things that are current slip away too quickly.
I once heard that the reason time goes quicker as you get older is because your collective memories are fewer when you are younger. As you age and have more and more memories life seems to fly by. I think this applies to being able to quickly recall words or names which suddenly seem to escape you as you get older.
If you are young you may need to see a Dr. to check that you are healthy, especially if you are dealing with extra stress and anxiety. I hope you can find some ways to not sweat the small stuff and to only worry about what you can change right this minute. One of my favorite sayings is "worry is interest paid before it is due."

What is the reason for being overly stressed? stress can cause this problem, and one other thing is being conscious and paying too much attention to this problem.
Got to learn how to relax and don't be too hard on yourself, I went through the same thing about ten years ago and it eventually went away.

You are watching yourself too closely.

Stress and depression can cause you to forget words you use daily. They also can prevent you from remembering what you have done during the day and to misplace items.
