Rise above it, they'll get tired of saying things like that when it receives no laughter. It's not like the bad hunter jibe is a snappy insult against veggies anyway. The offering of a boiled carrot for tea seems to be the main line that most non vegetarian 'comedians' seem to use...hilarious and original, really.
