1. That is not in reference to the orbit of the earth but in the stability of the earth. We will always have the seasons, the land, the seas, the stars until the end.
2. You didn't read it.
Jdg 4:21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
See? She used a hammer AND a nail in 4:21 and in 5:26-27 as well.
Jdg 5:26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.
3. Cubits was the unit of measure then and we can only guess how long a cubit was. So you can't use the verses to say what you have said here.

I think it is great that you have such great questions about the Bible. First consider its sources. None of the apostle's could read or write. Back then only the very rich could read and write. And Jesus did not hang out with rich folks it was not his style!
We also know that the first word was not written until 30 years after Jesus was put to death. That is 30 years of rumors and exaggerations! And those stories came from people that would kill the cow to get it to rain on the corn. Or they just figured God was mad at them and that was why it did not rain. Today we call that weather. They also believed the stars were holes in a blanket that God put over the sky at night. They did not even think about the earth being flat or round! So the questions you are asking are great! The Church is not even sure who wrote the Bible. But they know it was popularized by the Roman government embracing it for reasons of control. Oh and that is the same people that killed Jesus. All historians have pointed that out for the reason the Bible puts all the majority of blame on the Jews! Mistakes and hypocrisies flow like water threw the Good Book! You should believe what you think is right, or what you know is.

Answers:
1. The cannot be moved, is a reference to the earth being an integral part of God's plan where we are born to this earth. It (the earth) has an important place as being the location where we live and work out our salvation. It does not refer to the earth being motionless.
2. Much like events and personal descriptions of current events, we "see" or "remember" things slightly differently as we recall them. If there are 5 people witnessing a traffic accident, all five will share a slightly different description of the same accident because they observed it from different angles and their descriptions is flavored with their culture, believes, values, perceptions of life. Perhaps this is occurring with this scripture. We are all human, after all.
3. Not knowing the "exact" character of a cubit, it is hard to say the accuracy of what this is saying.
Remember that the Bible, while being God's word, was recorded by the hand of man, and it may contain some grammatical and computational errors subject to the fallacies of man. Does that diminish from its doctrinal truths? It should not.

1. the Psalms are songs, if you did not know that. They were written by man. Man is not perfect. What seems motionless to one may not necessarily be so. 2. Judges 4:21 is the story of the account of Sis'e-ra death. judges 5: 26-27 is a song about Sis'e-ra death. 3. Actually he is talking about Hiram the Bronze worker. Hiram made two pillars. It does not mention PI. Even though you said it implies PI, which I do can not fathom how you come up with that logic, if you try hard enough I guess you can try and twist anything. Nice try though. God Bless.

The English words "world" and "earth" are different words and have distinct, separate conceptual meanings in the Holy Bible and the English language. These meanings are defined by the Scriptures when used in context. Understanding that difference in distinction is CRUCIAL to rightly dividing the word of truth, for therein is found one of the keys to unlocking the paradox of the creation account of Genesis chapter one and the geologic evidence of an ancient earth.
Archemedes guessed that pi was between 3.1 and 3.2 2200 years ago.
Biblical mathematicians guessed that pi was 3, 3000+ years ago.

No, mistakes in your interpretation:
1. It does not say the earth is motionless, the Bible says "The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved." and "He (God) set the earth on its foundations, it cannot be moved." This says the earth as created by God (as we now know) is the third planet in this solar system in the Milky Way galaxy. It will not be skipping hither and yon throughout other solar systems.
2. In both stories in Judges, Sisera was killed by Jael when a tent peg was driven through his skull by a hammer as he lay sleeping in the tent of Deborah.
3. Well, excuuuse me! In a story, doesn't it make sense to say "...measuring 10 cubits high ... 30 cubits to measure around it" rather than "... 10 cubits high ... 31.416 cubits to measure around it." This is a story, not blueprints.
I must say, though, congratulations on reading the Bible. I so wish you would read it with your heart instead of your head.

I can only give some validation to what you are saying the Bible was translated 4 times just in English alone, not to mention there were Religious Editors that left parts of the Bible out that did not agree personally with their tastes during the dark ages. Hence, the people were in the Dark and Freedom less in this whole process.

Mistakes of the type you are referring to do not shake my faith in the Bible as the word of God. I know of a number of other mistakes that are even more important such as the misplaced comma in the story of the thief on the cross when Jesus said I tell you today you will be with me in paradise. The comma was put in the wrong place by translators because of their own bias. It was put after you, but it should go after today, It is clear from a lot of other texts where the comma should go. The reason these types of mistakes do not bother me is because the Bible is meant to be understood as it stands in its entirety. One must never build a belief solely on one or even two texts, but must use all the texts that pertain to particular issue and then determine what truth is.

1. Does not say the earth is motionless, but speaks of the earth as being permanent.
2. She drove the tent peg in and he died one does it in narrative form the other in poetic song form. Fell at her feet just means she is the one who killed him.
3.Gives the dimensions of the Sea a vessel of washing and doesn't imply anything about pi.
Please do better next time.

Peace!
I agree with you. There are many mistakes in the Bible. However, these mistakes were not meant as teaching. Many things in the Bible were put there for geographical, cultural, poetic or other reasons. What is important is the revelation. For this reason, the Bible should be read in the same level it was written - spiritual. When you read the Bible this way, God will speak to you.
God bless!
