Today i was on a train and two nuns were next to me and people were really mean to them making fun of them ect... so i smiled and befriended them. i didnt realsie they get the same treatment as i do because i am a muslim and also cover myself

To be honest i havent since any nuns in my area! That being the UK. But it's good you smiled thats what we should do.

Hmmm, try reading the first section of the life of Cora Pearl. She went to a convent school. The nuns there were just as bad as the priests. Sexual antics night and day.
Nuns are, like most of the "religious", narrow minded and unthinking. Much of the so-called "good" they do makes already bad situations worse but they haven't the guts to admit it.
My feeling is basically they are socially inadequate sexually frustrated religious fanatics.

I'm not Catholic, but I wouldn't be mean to nuns. You know, I just realised, I really don't see nuns and can't remember the last time I saw one. Maybe they don't wear those nun cloths in the US, but I seem to remember seeing them. But if they were in full nun gear, I wouldn't make fun of them. Those people that did are likely to make fun of anyone due to their own lack of manners.

Actually what you saw was quite unusual. The people who were teasing them were religous right fundamentalists Ted Haggard Christians. They see nuns and they think they are tall penguins. Those are the same kind of Christians who don't like muslims, or other moderate, thinking Christians. They are hateful and bitter against anything that is different than them.

Nuns, along with others used to have the respect of the British public, but to-days younger generation, who have been ill brought up, have respect for nothing or nobody no mater who they are or what they stand for

That's weird, people do seem to make fun nowadays. Traditionally becoming a nun was a way for a woman to get the power and respect that a man would. It was kinda like by giving up her sexuality she could be treated (more or less) like a man.

It isn't the nuns, it is more ignorant people are in the west.Over the years I have seen the youth in this country become stupid more and more everyday.Now not all just the ones who think they know it all, with their wet behind the ear tails between their legs,little punks..

not being religious myself i have worked in a place where nuns live, is it a nunnery or something. they are just people like us all, only some people seem to treat them with a huge amount of reverence as though they are superior beings. they are after all people who choose to live their life different from others. though they do seem to be a lot calmer than most people i meet.

Westwrn society respects no one. But we envy with a passion everyone with a thick wallet. Western world is so full of s**t that we will suffocate ourselves into it. We have no values in gweneral, some individuals are ok of course just as in any culture, but in general we are lost.

In my country they are respected. that was so mean of those people but Nuns can take it, they have faith
