Too many times, it isn't taught as a theory but as a fact. That is why people have a problem with evolution especially when some of it contradicts with the Word of God.

Of course it's a theory. It's the theory that explains the origin of the various plant and animal species we see all around us.

If you're insinuating that as a theory it is not true, you're the one with the misunderstanding. Do you understand that evolution is a fact, that it is, in fact the source of the variations in plants and animals that we see around us? Or do you still hold the false belief that the plants and animals were magically created in their current form? If the latter, then I strongly suggest that you learn something about a topic before posting comments on others' understandings of that topic.

And it's spelled "seem".

Why is it that people can't seam to get it that the THEORY of gravity is just a theory, maybe because when you drop something it falls down instead of up, or the theory of electricity, last time I checked when I flipped the light switch the light came on.

a) Learn English.
b) You're grossly misunderstanding the meaning of the word "theory" when used in a scientific context. The THEORY of gravity, the atomic THEORY, and cell THEORY are all THEORIES. When you start floating and not consisting of atoms or cells, then you can make fun of theories. Theories are explanations for facts we cannot prove any of them - they are simply the best explanations that we have. So far, nothing other than evolutionary theory has been able to explain the complexity we see around us in a scientific way. Intelligent design is simply NOT SCIENCE.

Because it gives nonbelievers a way to justify the way they feel - and that ends up getting really personal. When things get personal, people tend to forget about the science and scientific methods. Also, so many people are only educated by the soundbytes they hear in the media, they make fact (in their own mind) based on the VERY small amount of information they have been given.

You need to talk to anyone. A scientists, a professor, anyone.

A scientific theory is different than a theory.

It has to be backed up by evidence, and it has to be flawless to be updated to a principle.

Some theories are stronger than others.

The larger the theory, the less likely it will be promoted.

Evolution is the backbone of science, with thousands of pieces of evidence in every scientific field to support, but it is not all testable for obvious reasons, but that does not mean it is not considered scientific fact.

Everyone with an education knows macroevolution is a scientific theory.

But did you know that Young-Earth Creationism is bunk?

Did you know that Intelligent Design isn't a theory, but rather a speculation or conjecture?

Fine but do you know what a Theory is?

Hint, the formal scientific term is not the same as the common English term.

And for the know-nothings who are bound to post on here something to consider. Everything that is called a 'Law of Nature' has been shown to be false and have been replaced by better and truer theories.

I think the word theory means theory. I think Bill Clinton changed its meaning with his brilliant discovery of the definiton of the word "is". Also his other great works of sexuality; the meaning of oral sex not being sex at all. Its just called oral. there's no sex involved. how silly!
