I use to want to be a dentist. The notion left me as a teenager when I realised that it took 6 years! Also now, I dont think I would like to be looking in peoples mouths all day for a living (although the money would be nice!) so I suppose I made the right choice.
I also completed half my nurses training before I realised that the job was too much like an office job with the paperwork involved and left.

I also checked your profile if you check my questions you will see I am having a jaw replacement done am going to the hospital on Wednesday morning to see consultant and hopefully get an idea of a date and if you wish I can give you updates on when I'm having it done maybe it would be a good thing for you also you may learn from it and it could help others in the future so if you do want me to could you put an additional and let me know I am a bit cautious about sending mail to others on something like this Good luck with your future
I also tried and had no luck I wouldn't put my mail on here I thought what I am having done that it may have been helpfull to you I wouldn't advise you to either I may find a way yet

When I was a kid I always wanted to be a Vet. I would still like to be a vet now but when I got to about 12 years old and realised how long it took to become one and I changed my mind coz I didn't wanna go to Uni for years. I really wish I never now but on the other side of things if I had of gone to uni and things then I wouldn't have met and married my soul mate :o)

Yes, as a matter of fact I did want to become a dentist and to specialize in Orthodontics, but things happened, family and such. But no, I wasn't able to continue my pursuit, but the desire to finish or work in this area has never faltered.
Just read your profile, I think that is great! Anything that I may be able to help you with let me know.

When I was a kid, almost all the doctors in the U.S. were male, so it never occurred to me. I think that if I'd seen female doctors as examples, then I might have done it myself; if I were 25 years younger (I'm nearly 52...), then I WOULD do it - I think I could deal with the coursework, but I'm not sure how I'd hold up under 48-hour shifts. As it is, I'm going back to (hopefully) get my PhD in botany/biology.

When I was a child I wanted to be in the military like my Dad and most of my family. When I went into the Army they gave me a bunch of tests and sent me to school to be a Medic. After I was hurt and discharged out of the Army I went to Nursing School. I did that for 35 years. It was a long and an interesting trip. (Grin)
