My 4 year old recently started preschool and I want to invite some of her classmates to her party. I am having the party at the zoo this year. Do I pay for the kids and parents or just the kids or let the parents who want to come pay for both? I don't want to prepay for admission and there be no shows.... What do i do?

I had a party for my daughter at the park which included merry-go-round, in my invites I had a separate note to parents stating that because the invited guest (the child) will receive pre-paid tickets for rides a RSVP is requested. For the RSVP I included a stamped reply card, that also had room on it to indicate additional guests that will be joining the invited guest. I also stated that Parents and siblings are encouraged to come join the party but will need to pay the access fee.

Find out if there is a group rate. Many theme parks offer this for classes and the like. Then it may not matter how many show or do not show. But if you are inviting more than just a few kids, I would have their parents at least pay for themselves.
Also, ALL souvenirs and food not related to party should not be covered by you. That is definitely not your responsibility.

You are hosting the party so you are obligated to pay for the invitees. Make sure the parents know that you are only paying for the invited children, and not siblings, and not parents tickets. Have them RSVP a week before you actually need them to; there will be last minute callers (with sorry excuses).

most family oriented places will allow you to bring one adult per a certain number of children, try that angle first then talk to the parents and maybe the teacher to find out some good ways to invite only the child and a parent or choose your own adults to use a volunteers.

that's a hard 1. you want the parents there cos you don't want to be responsible for all those young kids on your own. and they may expect you to pay for there child and them pay for them selves as you invited the kids you should pay.
