I'd like to have the page numbers start from a selected page of my document, not from the beginning. How do I do this? The traditonal way of inserting page numbers starts to count the pages from the original first page, whereas I don't want that to happen till at least page five of my document.

You need to create a section break in your document to re-start numbering. Use the help section (I use it all the time) and type in section break and follow the directions. Good Luck.

View / Header & Footer / click the little paper icon that has a # sign on it. This will insert the page number. If you want to insert it like 1 of 4 instead of just a particular page number, click the same icon then type a space and the word 'of' and click the next icon - the paper with two + signs on it. Good luck on your paper!

It can't be done automatically as the automatic feature starts pagination from the first printed page. You can only put them in manually -- it is a messy job with a long document.

Click on "view" on the tool bar, and "header and footer". One the page you want to start numbering use the following:
Page { PAGE }
Page { PAGE } of { NUMPAGES }
