Playful little pokes, yes. But all out war and flaming
is unecessary. Just because someone believes
something different dosen't make them evil.

most people in this world will make fun of almost anything that they don't agree with or don't understand, no matter how old or how new or how popular. People feel like they have power to put others down, and it makes them feel in control. They turn to the wrong ways to gain attention. We shouldn't be making fun of anyone's religion or anything about someone else. God made everyone and He loves us all the same. He died for each person, and no one is greater than another. He is willing to forgive the sins of anyone and give them eternal life, if only they believe and ask forgiveness. No one deserves to be made fun of. it even says in the Declaration of Independence, "all men are created equal and endowed by their creator [God] with certain inalienable rights."

I think that it's fine to make fun of ignorance and false beliefs, particularly when delivered as arrogantly as so many are.
I wouldn't restrict my derision to any particular religions, and were there a religion that doesn't produce ignorant arrogance I would not have any reason to deride it.
I haven't found myself mocking any Buddhists here yet, for reasons having everything to do with the lack of childish behavior on the part of Buddhists. If they start acting poorly, I'll be sure to point it out. When people of other religions act well, I point that out as well - there have been quite a few times when I've congratulated believers - with whom I disagree - for their mature responses to difficult questions.

I don't think Scientology is funny in the least.
I think it's dangerous. I know it's dangerous.
I don't know if you want to know why, but I'll tell you anyway:
• Operation Snow White – Under this program, Scientology operatives committed infiltration, wiretapping, and theft of documents in government offices. This program constituted the single largest infiltration of the United States government in history. Among the 11 prominent Scientologists convicted of this conspiracy was Mary Sue Hubbard, the wife of Scientology’s “prophet”.

• Operation Freakout - Their campaign of sabotage and violence against Paulette Cooper, the writer who published her research and findings on several cults, including Scientology. Scientology’s official plan: to frame Paulette, ruin her career and reputation and get her sent either to jail or psychiatric confinement.

• Fair Game - the Scientology policy detailing how the organization may confront and handle critics and perceived enemies. Here is a direct quote: "Enemies may be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.”
http://www.xenu.net/archive/disk/fairgame.htm
• Violent Kidnapping - Lisa McPherson was a Scientologist, was involved in a car accident and resultantly became mentally unstable, was kidnapped by agents of Scientology, held against her will, refused proper psychiatric treatment and was allowed to STARVE TO DEATH.

• Jeremy Perkins - A CBS “48 Hours” special on the mentally disturbed son of Scientologist parents who refused to put him on the anti-psychotic drugs that would have stabilized him & prevented him from killing his own mother.

Disagreement does not have to cause humiliation. Making fun of anyone's beliefs is definitely not a classy thing to do no matter what one's personal thoughts, views or opinions on the subject may be. It is okay to voice disagreement without trying to cause pain or destruction to the individual or group involved.

nobody should make fun of any religion but unfortunately there are people who will make fun of certain religions and religious beliefs it just depends on the individual person as most people wouldn't make fun of anybody for their religion or religious beliefs even if they feel that the religion or religious beliefs might be silly or whatnot

I don't think making fun of any religion is right. However their are religions that teach from the Bible and its true meaning and those that do not. the ones that do not will always be wrong and forever lost.
