Yes - in fact, having more than one disorder, which is called "comorbidity," is very common.

Bipolar disorder is an axis one mood disorder. According to Wikipedia, "Depression, ADHD, ODD, schizophrenia, and Tourette syndrome are common comorbid conditions."

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder with ADHD when I was 18 and I'm 27 now. Its a good thing your doctor took you off your anti depressants until she figures out if you're bipolar or not because the anti depressants could push you into a really bad self destructive manic episode. To me there is a big difference between ADHD and mania. ADHD means you can't concentrate on something and you move around a lot. But mania is when you don't need as much sleep or as much to eat, your thoughts are scattered, you talk fast, you have irrational thoughts, you are a little deluded and crazy. I hope that makes sense. Really all mental illnesses sort of overlap a little. My doctor told me some things have a lot of the same symptoms but you will lean towards one more strongly. I also wanted to say that having mental illness is hard, but at least you got diagnosed early, and you will get a handle on it eventaully. Its not easy, but you can live well with these things and overcome the difficult days.....
