why is it that a single mom can make excusses when it comes to her kids needs before her mans. i think the kids should come first dont get me wrong. but if i as a singledad do that i have got nagged on for it. lm tired of this. i know woman like to come first. but i have a son. and he is number one. just like i would expect anyone elses kids to be. someone please let me know if im wrong. or am i justified in being upset about this.

I was a single mother for yrs and my children always came first. I rarely ever dated or even went out w/ friends. B/c I spent all my time w/ my boys. Now I am remarried and I am a stay-at-home mom, and I am still w/ my children all the time. I think I understand your situation to be that you dated someone who wanted to be first before your son??? That, I agree, is wrong. Though, you have to make time for a woman in your life to be a priority, if you want to make it work. I had an ex who always invited me to stay w/ him on weekends he had his son, and he let his son pick what we did all weekend. So, I quit staying, and eventually, I left him. You have to find a balance.

If the woman always want to come first she should never date a single dad. If she's aware that you have a child ok with that, she should be more understanding!

I'm not sure I understand what you situation is...
When you put your kids first before a woman, then the woman gets mad?
If that's what you mean, those women need to grow up and stop being so childish...

You are right! YOur son should come first! If a women does not agree..Kick her to the curb! I am teacher and it effects children in divorce situation when their parents start dating! By keeping ur son first it allows for him to feel involved!

I personally think you have a right to be upset.....Good for you!!! Children don't ask to be brought into this world and as parents it's our job to put their needs first and if you have a partner who can't accept that then maybe she's not the one for you!
